Products
The Wessex Foods product portfolio includes fresh and frozen burgers,
fresh and frozen grill steaks, individually quick frozen mince and frozen
steak products all of which are sold in both retail and foodservice markets.
Products are produced under private label and also under the ‘Unger’
foodservice brand and ‘Stateside’ retail brand.
All of our private label products are produced to exact customer specifications
and under the safest production systems using only the highest quality
ingredients.
Products are continually monitored against the core sensory attributes,
which include taste and texture, and are also continually benchmarked
against competitor products against competitor products to ensure that
the Wessex Foods' customer has the best products in the market place.
Burgers
Wessex
Foods produce over 16,500 tonnes of frozen burgers annually, with volume
equally split between retail and foodservice customers. The production
facility is extremely versatile allowing the production of differing weights
and sizes of burgers, depending on individual customer requirements.
Wessex Foods produce frozen burgers and grill steaks in both private label
and under the Unger and Stateside brands.
Fresh burger manufacturing at Wessex Foods utilises the most automated
production line in Europe enabling Wessex Foods to be the most cost efficient
manufacturer in the market.
Frozen Mince
Wessex Foods produce over 60% of the UK’s IQF frozen retail mince
using a state of the art frozen mince production line.
Steak Range
The
steak range is a cost competitive range which offers customers a cheaper
alternative to fresh whole muscle cuts. Already available through most
of the major retailers this range is ideal for use in the foodservice
sector as it delivers specific portion control, allowing exact margin
calculations.
This product can be produced with a variety of flavoured coatings and
produced in many different sizes from larger steak cuts to thinner sliced
sandwich steaks.
